What counts as breaking your commitment
Real money is on the line, so the rules are spelled out plainly here. No surprises: if it isn't on this page, it doesn't cost you your stake.
Forfeits your stake
- Viewing pornographic content during the commitment.
- Canceling the commitment before its end date.
- Uninstalling, reinstalling, or disabling the Staked watcher.
- Revoking the permissions it needs (such as screen monitoring and Accessibility Services).
Forfeited deposits are donated to a registered anti-porn nonprofit.
Not a violation
We do not recommend these changes since we use DNS filtering for your convenience. However, everyday network changes are fine. Staked re-applies its own filtering automatically, and the on-device screen watcher still enforces your commitment either way:
- Changing your DNS settings.
- Turning on a VPN.
- Switching networks (home, work, mobile data, cafés).
Keep your commitment → full refund
Make it to the end without a violation and your entire stake is returned. Only the card processing fee (paid when you deposited) is non-refundable.
Built to be light & private
- On-device. Detection runs entirely on your own machine. Screenshots are analyzed locally and never uploaded. Only a cryptographic fingerprint leaves your device, as tamper-proof evidence.
- Lightweight. Our privately developed watcher is designed to be very lightweight, so it won't bog down your computer or drain your battery during normal use.
- Tamper-resistant. The watcher is built to be hard to defeat, and attempts to disable or evade it are detected.
